ON FOOTSTEPS OF CHAUDHARY DEVI LAL

Chaudhary Devi Lal who is referred to as “Tau” in the entire Haryana, served as the 6th Deputy Prime Minister of India. Dushyant Chautala, who is the current Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana is also the great-grandson of Tau Devi Lal. Belonging from one of the political dynasties of the state, Dushyant Chautala was clear about his responsibilities towards the public from the start.

Devi Lal had a distinctive vision towards the development of Haryana and his main concern used to be the poor and the farmers. Dushyant Chautala, immediately after stepping into politics, made sure to keep the farmers, poor, and the youth in the frontline which made the people realize that he is pushing forward the ideologies which were left behind after the demise of Devi Lal.

Chaudhary Devi Lal was presented the title of Jannayak by the people of Haryana due to his consistent determination and unstoppable good deeds for the people in need. Having likewise qualities endowed inside him, Dushyant Chautala is emerging as an identical shadow of his great grandfather which makes him the exemplary youth icon of his mother state.

Even after so many years, the purpose of the family remained the same. Devi Lal used to stand for the right things by being an active part of freedom movements for which he even used to face consequences like imprisonment. Dushyant too has inherited the same approach and that is why in the year 2017, he was the only member of the parliament who stood for the crucial issue of water scarcity in the state of Hissar.

It is believed that Tau Devi Lal Ji himself inculcated his beliefs and valuable ideologies when Dushyant was a kid. In his childhood days, he even used to campaign door to door for his great grandfather. That is why Dushyant Chautala is known to work on the Footsteps of Chaudhary Devi Lal and this is one of the massive reasons for the immense love and admiration he gets from the people.
